Classes

Teachers of the Trade

We offer evening classes for those interested in learning to build custom furniture. Each class is small with one instructor and five students.  Students choose their own projects and no prior woodworking experience is required.

Please send an email request for further information to harrisonhigginsinc@msn.com.

Shown to the right are two small boxes which are offered as a fixed-project course over two weekends.    The upper is in blistered maple with ebony line inlay.   The lower is in walnut with boxwood line inlay.  Please send an email to inquire about the schedule for this course.

Below is a kitchen table, dressing table, serving cabinet, and traditional workbench.  All of these were made by students enrolled in one of the classes.

"The classes are so tremendous and the finished projects so gorgeous that I have stopped fishing." -Bud W.

“I don’t know what it is about working with wood...the smell, the sawdust, the finish, the life within each unique piece of wood...but for me, these furniture classes allow me the creative outlet I need in my life to find balance and joy and just plain fun. I’ve made everything from bar stools, to a dining room table, to a bed, and on and on...how cool is that!” - Ed W. -- who is also making a Herreshoff 12.5 on the weekends

"Great shop to fulfill your woodworking dreams. If you have a woodworking idea they can help you bring it to fruition. You learn the basics of woodworking as well as finishing. Great place to have fun completing a project. "  - James R.
